Transportation Director

Description:

A fast-growing boutique logistics company in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) is seeking a dynamic and tech-savvy Director of Transportation to join their remote team. This role is an excellent opportunity for a high-performing logistics professional with expertise in Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) transport and a strong North American carrier network.

The company prides itself on superior customer service and a cutting-edge tech platform that differentiates it in the logistics sector. The successful candidate will be entrusted with end-to-end carrier sourcing and management responsibilities while collaborating closely with sales and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and onboard new LTL carriers across North America

• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and scorecards for carrier performance

• Partner with sales teams to assist with pricing, proposals, and onboarding of new accounts

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation or logistics

• Proven success in LTL trucking, with an extensive and reliable carrier network

• Preferred background in a freight brokerage, though experience with a shipper (manufacturer/retailer) will also be considered

• Strong technical proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), MS Excel, and related tools

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented mindset

• A university degree and/or CCLP (CITT) designation would be an asset
