Courier Relief

Description:

Purolator Inc., Canada’s leading integrated freight, package, and logistics provider, is seeking a Courier/Sorter Relief to support operations in Port Hastings. This hybrid role includes dock duties—loading and unloading packages onto trucks—and courier duties—delivering packages to customers. Shifts are as-needed, providing coverage for 25 hours per week, and do not follow a fixed schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pick up and deliver customer packages according to daily schedules.

• Load and unload trailers and trucks.

• Scan packages/mail upon receipt, delivery, or return to the depot.

• Resolve on-the-road issues in collaboration with Dispatch and customers.

• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using package scanners and electronic Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (E-DVIR).

• Unload curbside vehicles and load line haul trailers to meet scheduled departures.

• Perform scanning, cubing, and reweighing of packages.

Requirements & Skills:

• Completion of High School and relevant vocational courses.

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

• 3 years of driving experience with a clean driver’s abstract.

• Physical ability to lift/lower up to 70 pounds.

• Skills in domestic shipping, courier services, and shipping/receiving operations.

• Attention to detail, problem-solving, and ability to focus for extended periods, including long periods of driving.
