Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Description:

EXP is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join its dynamic office in Trois-Rivières. Reporting to the Director of Environment, Soil, and Materials for the Mauricie region, the successful candidate will manage geotechnical projects and provide technical guidance across various stages of project execution. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging and diverse projects while contributing to sustainable solutions and environmental improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as Project Manager for geotechnical projects in the Mauricie region.

• Assist and advise the technical and professional team during project execution.

• Collaborate with geotechnical professionals across EXP offices in Quebec.

• Participate in business development within geotechnical services.

• Draft proposals and service offers.

• Plan and conduct geotechnical studies, including soil and rock sampling, boreholes, piezometer installations, and in-situ testing.

• Prepare study and expert reports, supervising laboratory test programs.

• Calculate bearing capacities, settlements, and other geotechnical parameters.

• Analyze slope and embankment stability using software such as GeoSlope.

• Monitor technical and administrative project aspects while maintaining client communication.

• Perform other related duties as required.

Education and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering.

• Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering is an asset.

• Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).

• Basic environmental knowledge is an asset.

• Proficiency in Office Suite and geotechnical software (Chaussée 2, GeoSlope, Géotec, GeoStudio).

• Excellent French communication skills (oral and written).
