Description:
gbi, a forward-thinking engineering consultancy, is expanding its railway expertise and seeking a highly skilled Ingénieur.e ferroviaire to join its transportation division. Working in close collaboration with the Senior Director of Transport, you will contribute to exciting and large-scale transportation projects, applying your technical expertise to ensure smooth division operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for conducting studies and designing railway infrastructures such as bridges, railways, level crossings, and railway systems. Your duties will include performing analyses, engineering assessments, technical specifications, and ensuring the preparation, monitoring, and verification of construction plans for both new builds and repairs. You will also take part in project planning, identify and apply relevant design codes and standards, and manage project schedules and budgets in coordination with senior management.
You will liaise with clients, prepare proposals, and attend client meetings. Additionally, you will mentor and provide training to less experienced team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct studies and design for railway infrastructure projects (bridges, railways, crossings, systems).
Perform engineering analyses, assessments, and prepare technical specifications.
Supervise, monitor, and validate the preparation of construction and repair plans.
Assist in project planning and ensure compliance with design codes and contractual documents.
Manage project timelines and budgets.
Coordinate with clients and contribute to service proposals.
Lead meetings with clients and train junior staff.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Member in good standing of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec.
Minimum 8 years of experience in the railway sector.
Solid knowledge of industry standards (AREMA is an asset).
Proficiency in French (spoken and written).
ASP safety certification for construction sites.
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
