Description:

Innergex, a leading renewable energy producer with over 30 years of experience developing, acquiring, and operating hydroelectric facilities, wind farms, solar parks, and energy storage systems across Canada, the USA, France, and Chile, is seeking a Construction – Gestionnaire de turbines éoliennes to join its team in Quebec.

The Construction Manager will play a key role in the planning, supervision, and successful execution of wind turbine construction projects. Reporting to the Senior Construction Manager, the incumbent will support project planning during pre-construction, oversee daily contractor activities, ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, and monitor risk and progress to maintain operational efficiency on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in project planning, technical design progress, procurement, and preparation of quality assurance/control plans.

  • Supervise daily contractor activities, inspect work, and ensure workflow efficiency and productivity on-site.

  • Monitor construction progress, report risks, and implement mitigation strategies when required.

  • Ensure compliance with construction contracts, supplier agreements, and environmental regulations.

  • Oversee contractor health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures and policies.

  • Monitor quality control to ensure work meets specifications, drawings, and testing procedures.

  • Quickly escalate any emergencies or unforeseen issues to minimize project impacts.

  • Report directly to the Senior Construction Site Manager on project risks and status.

Required Competencies & Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in construction or project management in energy or heavy civil infrastructure.

  • Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent qualification.

  • Proven experience managing complex, multidisciplinary, large-scale projects with contractors and suppliers.

  • EPC (IAC) project management experience is an asset.

  • Team-oriented with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and initiative.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with sound decision-making abilities.

  • Strong understanding of renewable energy project construction.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Fluency in English (oral and written); knowledge of French and/or Spanish is an asset.
