Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Description:

EXP is currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their dynamic team in the Trois-Rivières office. Reporting to the Director of Environment, Soils, and Materials for the Mauricie region, you will be responsible for managing geotechnical projects.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Act as Project Manager for geotechnical work in the Mauricie region

• Assist and advise technical and professional teams throughout project phases

• Collaborate with geotechnical professionals in EXP offices across Quebec

• Participate in business development efforts in geotechnical services

• Prepare proposals and service offers

• Plan and execute geotechnical studies including drilling, soil and rock sampling, well and piezometer installation, in-situ testing, etc.

• Write study and expert reports and oversee lab testing programs

• Calculate bearing capacities, settlement values, and other geotechnical parameters

• Perform slope stability analyses using software like GeoSlope

• Oversee technical and administrative aspects of projects while maintaining strong client communication

• Perform other job-related tasks as required

What Makes You a Great Fit:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geological Engineering

• Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering (an asset)

• More than 10 years of relevant experience

• Member in good standing with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)

• Basic knowledge of environmental engineering (an asset)

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and software like Chaussée 2, GeoSlope, Géotec, and GeoStudio

• Excellent verbal and written communication in French
