Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Description:

EXP is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join its dynamic team in Trois-Rivières, Quebec. Reporting to the Director of Environment, Soils, and Materials, the candidate will be responsible for leading geotechnical projects, collaborating with professionals across Quebec, and contributing to business development in the geotechnical field.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Act as a Project Manager in Geotechnical Engineering for the Mauricie region.
✅ Assist and advise technical teams in different project phases.
✅ Collaborate with geotechnical professionals across EXP offices in Quebec.
✅ Participate in business development in the geotechnical sector.
✅ Prepare service proposals for geotechnical projects.
✅ Plan and execute geotechnical studies, including:

• Borehole drilling
• Soil and rock sampling
• Installation of wells and piezometers
• In-situ testing
  ✅ Write technical reports and oversee laboratory test programs.
  ✅ Perform bearing capacity calculations, settlement analysis, and geotechnical assessments.
  ✅ Conduct slope stability analysis using software such as GeoSlope.
  ✅ Maintain effective communication with clients while managing technical and administrative aspects of projects.
  ✅ Perform other related tasks as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

✔️ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering.
✔️ Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering (an asset).
✔️ Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering.
✔️ Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
✔️ Basic knowledge of environmental regulations (an asset).
✔️ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and geotechnical software such as Chaussée 2, GeoSlope, Géotec, and GeoStudio.
✔️ Excellent command of French (written and spoken).
