Police Instructor

Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and guide aspiring police officers in acquiring and applying their professional skills within the context of the police school.

• Work within one of the disciplinary fields: tactics, road safety, or police interventions.

• Prepare and lead educational activities, supervise learner progress, and evaluate their learning.

• Provide academic and behavioral guidance to aspiring police officers.

• Actively participate in pedagogical days.

• Contribute to research and development activities related to the subject matter.

• Supervise patrol outings.

Conditions of Employment:

• Work schedule based on educational needs (9 hours per day).

• Occasional evening and weekend work, with the possibility of overtime during public holidays.

• The selected candidate will receive training at the École nationale de police du Québec and maintain their current employment status and benefits during the service loan period.

• Additional remuneration between $7,000 and $10,000 annually.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be an active police officer.

• Must have completed the École nationale de police du Québec's initial patrol-gendarmerie training program or obtained an equivalent recognized by the ENPQ.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a police officer, with 3 years in patrol.

• Cannot hold a rank higher than sergeant.

• Demonstrated exemplary behavior in the current organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified technician for operating an ethanol meter.

• Completion of the following courses: Movement Coordination Tests (209-205-08) and Alco-Sensor FST (209-105-13) or Alco Sensor IV DWF (209-104-06).

• Recognized instructor for ECM or ADA activities.

• Recognized physical intervention or force instructor.
