Description:
Ville de Québec is seeking a skilled and dedicated Formatrice ou Formateur d'Équipement Motorisé to join its Service de la Gestion des Équipements Motorisés team. The role involves developing and delivering both theoretical and practical training courses for the operation of various motorized equipment, including snowblowers, resurfacing machines, sweepers, forklifts, and other municipal equipment.
The trainer will be responsible for preparing training materials, conducting evaluations, administering qualification tests, and ensuring drivers adhere to applicable laws and safety regulations. This role also includes carrying out vehicle accident prevention activities such as inspections, compliance audits, safety reminders, and participating in the continuous improvement of operational procedures.
Key duties include:
Designing and delivering motorized equipment operation training courses.
Writing and administering qualification documents and examinations.
Demonstrating proper equipment operation and related procedures.
Evaluating employee skills, providing field feedback, and recommending corrective actions.
Supporting the development and implementation of operational procedures and tools.
Conducting safety inspections, audits, and risk prevention activities.
Maintaining positive workplace relationships and providing excellent customer service.
Diploma of Professional Studies (DEP) or College Studies Attestation (AEC) in a relevant field.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience related to the position or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Valid Class 3 driver’s license (ability to obtain Class 1 required).
Strong knowledge of equipment operation techniques and relevant municipal regulations.
Familiarity with teaching techniques and methods for practical and theoretical training.
Excellent communication, report writing, and training facilitation skills.
Proficiency with computer tools and specific application software.
Strong teamwork and customer service orientation.
