Construction Machinery Operator

Description:

The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility of Quebec is seeking motivated individuals to fill a seasonal position for a Heavy Truck and Construction Equipment Operator. The role is based in Montérégie and offers a dynamic, collaborative work environment aligned with health and wellness principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy machinery such as 3–4 axle trucks, loaders, impact attenuator trucks, pavers, graders, and asphalt rollers.

• Perform various road maintenance and construction tasks including excavation, paving, signage installation, and general repairs.

• Conduct safety inspections and routine preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment.

• Maintain operational logs such as logbooks and safety checks.

• Participate in loading/unloading of construction materials.

• Support facility maintenance and yard upkeep.

• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and contribute actively to teamwork on-site.

Candidate Profile:

Required Qualifications:

• Option 1: DEP (Diploma of Vocational Studies) in heavy truck driving, machinery operation, or relevant technical field

• Option 2: Secondary school diploma + 1 year of relevant experience in operating heavy equipment

• Must have a valid Class 1, 2, or 3 driver's license with “F” endorsement (air brakes)

• Proficiency in French

• Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or possess a valid Canadian work permit
