Description:

Lotteries and Gaming Saskatchewan (LGS), a crown corporation, is responsible for overseeing casinos, video lottery terminals (VLTs), lotteries, and online gaming in the province. The organization is seeking a Senior Policy and Data Consultant to join their team, offering an opportunity for involvement in senior leadership and diverse experience within the gaming sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Unlock insights from internal and external data to communicate meaningful information for decision-makers.

  • Conduct complex strategic, public policy, and economic analysis on a wide range of gaming issues.

  • Research gaming and responsible gambling trends, issues, and developments locally and internationally, providing advice to inform the province’s gaming strategy.

  • Design and execute methodologically sound data/statistical analyses while ensuring adherence to privacy protocols.

  • Develop and communicate performance and research results to senior leaders and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and partners to facilitate strategic collaboration.

  • Develop materials such as spreadsheets, databases, dashboards, reports, presentations, speaking notes, briefing notes, and letters.

  • Manage grants and contracts.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in social sciences, public policy, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in strategic policy development, strategic planning, and performance measurement.

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in tools such as SAS, MS Power BI, Excel, R, and Python.

  • Experience in creating datasets and deriving insights from research.

  • Ability to manage complex files with multiple partners and competing interests.

  • Knowledge of responsible gambling and trends within the interjurisdictional gaming sector is an asset.

  • Understanding of provincial government decision-making processes.

Work Eligibility:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming Employee Certificate of Registration.

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
