Deskside Support Engineer

 

Description:

Raas Infotek is seeking a qualified and experienced Deskside Support Engineer for an onsite contractual position in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in Windows desktop environments and a strong understanding of IT support systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle IT support tickets and troubleshoot issues within set SLAs.

  • Provide technical support across Windows desktop platforms (Windows 10/11).

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot PCs, laptops, and mobile devices.

  • Perform hardware repairs including computers, printers, handheld devices, and peripheral equipment.

  • Utilize tools like SCCM for software deployment, remote support, and patch management.

  • Use ServiceNow, Remedy, or similar ITSM platforms to manage incidents and service requests.

  • Setup and troubleshoot Outlook, VPN, Wi-Fi, and other desktop applications.

  • Support and maintain office hardware including printers, fax machines, phones, and RF devices.

  • Provide network connectivity support and hands-on assistance in data center or network environments.

  • Assist with mobile device setup and troubleshooting (iOS, Android, Blackberry).

  • Maintain proper documentation for IT procedures and troubleshooting steps.

  • Ensure a high level of end-user satisfaction through effective communication and timely resolution of issues.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Office Suite.

  • Experience in AD user/group management and Exchange mailbox configuration.

  • Skilled in SCCM deployment and Windows image build processes.

  • Working knowledge of conference room AV setups and remote access tools (Bomgar, WebEx, RDP, etc.).

  • Familiarity with mobile device management and performance troubleshooting.

  • Exposure to support of networking and data center equipment is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Strong documentation and organizational skills.

  • Customer-centric attitude with the ability to handle complex or unforeseen technical issues.

  • Collaborative and responsive in a fast-paced IT environment.

Other Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a personal vehicle (mandatory for this location).

Years of Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2+ years in a similar IT support role (5+ years preferred for local/onsite support).
