Senior Analyst

Description:

First Capital REIT, a leading owner, operator, and developer of grocery-anchored open-air centres in Canada, is seeking a Senior Analyst, Asset Strategy to join their Asset Strategy team in Toronto. The team’s mission is to maximize asset value while reducing portfolio risk through analytics and value creation initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

Asset Strategy:

• Support oversight of real estate asset strategies, portfolio analytics, and valuations

• Conduct financial analyses, scenario planning, and sensitivity analyses to support decision-making and investment evaluations

• Coordinate cross-departmentally to ensure data accuracy and identify ways to improve project returns

• Assist in creating presentations for senior executives and joint venture partners

• Perform variance analyses, reconciliations, and prepare internal/external asset reports

• Stay informed on portfolio changes, asset modifications, and market trends

• Liaise with cross-functional teams and participate in special projects

Portfolio Management:

• Prepare quarterly valuations of the real estate portfolio including data research, modeling, and reporting

• Validate real estate values through financial reconciliations and leasing reviews

• Coordinate with external valuators, evaluate their reports for accuracy

• Support preparation of valuation schedules, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting

• Assist acquisition and development groups with modeling and analysis

• Work with external valuators and auditors

Skills & Attributes Required:

• Strong communication and influencing skills to present findings clearly to diverse stakeholders

• Excellent analytical and synthesis skills to connect data insights

• Advanced Excel and Argus modeling experience

• Team player with ability to collaborate effectively across teams

• Exceptional time management and ability to handle multiple priorities

• Open-minded and innovative in approaching asset management analytics
