Building Operator

Description:

Hays is hiring a Building Operator for a reputable real estate developer and property management firm based in Concord, Ontario. The company owns and manages over 24 million square feet of industrial, office, and retail space and is recognized for its integrity, strategic long-term growth, and hands-on leadership.

As the Building Operator, you will be a key team member responsible for the full scope of 24/7 maintenance requirements across multiple properties in the industrial and commercial portfolio. Your responsibilities will include routine inspections, systems operations, troubleshooting mechanical or electrical issues, overseeing contractors, and ensuring optimal building performance standards are maintained at all times.

This role demands a high level of independence and professionalism, as well as the ability to travel between multiple sites. The organization offers a supportive work environment that values long-term career growth and relationship building.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial and industrial property building operations

• Valid G class driver’s license (mandatory for site visits)

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Demonstrated ability to manage building systems and coordinate maintenance tasks across various facilities

• Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships
