Production Supervisor

Description:

Olymel, a Canadian leader in the agri-food industry with over 12,000 employees, is hiring a Contremaître (Production Supervisor) for its poultry processing plant in Berthierville, Québec. The plant specializes in the slaughter and processing of fresh poultry with a workforce of over 450 unionized and non-unionized employees. Located in Lanaudière, the facility is only 45 minutes from Montréal and Trois-Rivières.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring smooth plant operations and contributing to Olymel’s mission of “Together, we feed the world!”. The role involves planning, organizing, and supervising daily production activities, while ensuring compliance with safety and food quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and control production according to customer orders.

• Supervise and manage a team of 30–35 employees in production.

• Promote a positive and motivating workplace atmosphere.

• Monitor departmental performance and efficiency.

• Enforce and apply the HACCP program.

• Oversee workplace health and safety.

• Produce required reports and documentation.

• Ensure effective collaboration between departments and plant sectors.

• Carry out other related tasks as needed.

Profile Sought:

• Education in administration, production, or personnel management is an asset.

• Experience in food processing procedures and supervising unionized teams required.

• Strong skills in planning, organization, teamwork, and leadership.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

• High adaptability, problem-solving abilities, autonomy, and commitment to results.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
