Description:
Alta Equipment Company, the largest equipment dealer in North America, is seeking a motivated and hardworking individual for the role of Receptionist / Office Administrator at its Quebec City branch. This temporary full-time role (6-month maternity leave replacement) offers a dynamic work environment and a chance to grow professionally within an award-winning team.
Key Responsibilities:
Answer and direct phone calls/messages to appropriate staff
Greet clients and vendors in a professional manner
Order office and kitchen supplies
Manage incoming and outgoing mail
Maintain proper documentation and filing systems
Assist with invoicing and administrative support for commercial staff
Coordinate internal employee events and training
Integrate Alta’s guiding principles into daily activities
Perform other tasks as needed
Maintain consistent and reliable attendance, including adherence to scheduled start times
Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience as a receptionist or office administrator
Positive, friendly, and energetic personality
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional customer service and professional presentation
Strong attention to detail (proofreading, error checking, etc.)
Proficient in telephone etiquette and office software (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)
Basic language skills: reading simple instructions, correspondence, notes; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to present information effectively in small groups or one-on-one settings
Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios, and graph interpretation
Basic reasoning skills: ability to follow written or verbal instructions; ability to solve problems involving a few concrete variables
