Description:

Alta Equipment Company, the largest equipment dealer in North America, is seeking a motivated and hardworking individual for the role of Receptionist / Office Administrator at its Quebec City branch. This temporary full-time role (6-month maternity leave replacement) offers a dynamic work environment and a chance to grow professionally within an award-winning team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer and direct phone calls/messages to appropriate staff

  • Greet clients and vendors in a professional manner

  • Order office and kitchen supplies

  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail

  • Maintain proper documentation and filing systems

  • Assist with invoicing and administrative support for commercial staff

  • Coordinate internal employee events and training

  • Integrate Alta’s guiding principles into daily activities

  • Perform other tasks as needed

  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance, including adherence to scheduled start times

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a receptionist or office administrator

  • Positive, friendly, and energetic personality

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional customer service and professional presentation

  • Strong attention to detail (proofreading, error checking, etc.)

  • Proficient in telephone etiquette and office software (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Basic language skills: reading simple instructions, correspondence, notes; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to present information effectively in small groups or one-on-one settings

  • Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios, and graph interpretation

  • Basic reasoning skills: ability to follow written or verbal instructions; ability to solve problems involving a few concrete variables
