What you’ll be doing
As a Legal Assistant, you will provide proactive and high-quality support to multiple lawyers, helping to manage the flow of legal matters and ensuring deadlines and priorities are effectively coordinated.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing calendars, key dates, court deadlines, meetings, and conferences.
- Coordinating the flow of work with lawyers, law clerks, document specialists, and business services professionals.
- Preparing and managing correspondence and legal documents.
- Liaising with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
- Supporting matter intake, billing, collections, and other matter management activities.
- Providing day-to-day legal and administrative support while anticipating the needs of the lawyers you support.
What you bring
- 3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant supporting multiple lawyers, ideally in litigation.
- A diploma in Legal Administration, Legal Assistant Studies, or Law Clerk Studies.
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, including court filing and service.
- Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and document management systems.
- Experience with matter intake and complex client billing.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail, initiative, professionalism, and sound judgment.
