Junior Kindergarten Teacher

Description:

Foothills Alliance Christian Preschool and Kindergarten is seeking a passionate and dedicated part-time Junior Kindergarten Teacher to join their team starting in September 2025. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a Christ-centered learning environment and is committed to nurturing the spiritual, social, emotional, and academic development of young learners through engaging, play-based instruction.

The ideal candidate will create a safe, supportive, and stimulating classroom where children are encouraged to explore their interests, express creativity, and grow in faith. The teacher will collaborate with other educators and families, incorporate the Alberta Curriculum Framework, and participate actively in school events and team activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based lesson plans aligned with early learning standards and children’s interests.

• Collaborate with co-teachers, parents, and support staff to address students' individual needs.

• Promote curiosity, independence, and a positive attitude toward learning.

• Manage classroom routines effectively and support behavior development.

• Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and classroom activities.

• Encourage spiritual growth through daily prayer, Bible lessons, and social-emotional teaching.

• Attend professional development opportunities and school meetings.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Education or equivalent.

• Knowledge of child development and Alberta's Early Childhood Curriculum Framework.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

• Clear Police Background Check including vulnerable sector clearance.

• A teachable, cooperative, and professional spirit.
