Electrical Instructor

Description:

Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) is seeking a Non-Regular Electrical Instructor to teach entry-level and apprenticeship training in the Faculty of Trades & Technology. This is an on-call contract role, with teaching assignments ranging from a single day to several weeks.

The ideal candidate will have extensive industry experience and a strong ability to communicate effectively with students. Preference will be given to applicants with a teaching background and supervisory or administrative experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver theoretical and hands-on training in electrical construction and apprenticeship programs.
• Ensure student engagement and learning success through clear communication and instruction.
• Apply industry best practices to training sessions.
• Support students in developing their technical skills and professional competencies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education & Certifications:

• BC Certificate of Qualification (BC TQ) (Red Seal preferred).
• Or Certificate of Qualification with Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement (IP RSE) from another jurisdiction.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of recent industry experience as an Industrial or Construction Journeyperson.
• Teaching experience is preferred.
• 2+ years of supervisory or administrative experience is an asset.
