Contract Manager

 

Description:

CAE, a world-class leader in simulation and training solutions, is seeking a Contract Manager / Commercial Lead to join its Defence and Security International business unit. This dynamic and high-impact role involves overseeing contract execution, negotiating modifications, ensuring regulatory and contractual compliance, and mitigating legal and financial risks. The role also includes acting as a strategic commercial lead, contributing to business development and long-term competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead contract negotiations and manage the full lifecycle of contract execution

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, and contractual obligations

  • Draft, review, and interpret complex contracts to minimize organizational risk

  • Mitigate disputes and proactively address contract performance issues

  • Develop procurement and delivery strategies in collaboration with stakeholders

  • Support internal stakeholders with contract-related guidance and interpretation

  • Build and manage supplier relationships, including negotiations

  • Analyze contract data for performance insights and continuous improvement

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve customer satisfaction and competitiveness

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school

  • Member in good standing of a provincial or territorial law society

  • Minimum 5 years of contract management experience

  • Strong legal understanding of contract formation, negotiation, and enforcement

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management software

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate legal concepts clearly to non-legal teams

  • Ability to think strategically, analyze data, and manage risks

  • Financial acumen and negotiation expertise

  • Global perspective and a customer-centric mindset

  • AI proficiency and the ability to leverage emerging technologies in contract processes is a strong asset
