Description:

CAE, a global leader in aviation and defense training, is seeking an Instructeur en services de circulation aérienne to join its training operations team in Montreal. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering classroom and simulator instruction for generic and initial Air Traffic Services (ATS) training programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory authorities and client requirements. You will play a crucial role in equipping air traffic controllers, pilots, and essential mission teams with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in critical situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver classroom instruction and provide detailed debriefings after simulation sessions in line with CAE standards.

  • Conduct simulator sessions according to client Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Act as examiner for theoretical exams, simulator checks, and progress evaluations.

  • Maintain detailed training records for each trainee to ensure continuity and effective follow-up by other instructors.

  • Recommend remedial training when trainees are not meeting progress expectations.

  • Record simulator usage and deviations using proper reporting procedures.

  • Participate in refresher or update training related to air traffic services or teaching methods.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the continuous improvement of training programs, tutorials, and processes.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Meet Transport Canada’s minimum requirements for ATS instructor qualifications.

  • Practical knowledge of ICAO and Transport Canada regulations regarding air traffic control.

  • At least 3 years of operational experience in air traffic services.

  • Strong passion for training and talent development.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong client focus and ability to manage sensitive situations professionally.

  • High attention to detail with a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Ability to adapt easily to change and work effectively in dynamic environments.

  • Fluency in English and/or French (instruction will be conducted in one or both languages depending on the candidate’s skills).

Preferred Candidate Profile:

  • Previous experience as a Flight Service Specialist, Tower Controller, or IFR Controller in Canada.

  • Previous experience as an instructor.

  • Holds a valid instructor qualification issued by a regulatory authority.
