Social Media & Communications Intern

Cogeco Connexion Inc. is seeking a Social Media & Communications Intern to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social media content creation, influencer partnerships, and brand communications. The intern will help grow the brand's presence and awareness, particularly focusing on organic social media efforts. The role involves both video and photo content creation for social media platforms and will require a professional and proactive approach to tasks.

This internship provides an excellent chance to learn in an inclusive and welcoming environment. The internship will start on May 26, 2025, and end on August 29, 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in creating and editing written, video, and photo content for oxio’s social channels

• Appear in videos for oxio’s social media (both in English and French)

• Maintain a consistent brand voice across various social channels and customer-facing content

• Monitor social platforms for trending news, ideas, and feedback

• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop a content calendar for social media

• Engage with users and respond to messages, requests, and comments on social media

• Analyze data and create reports on key metrics

• Help with the development and management of social media marketing strategy and influencer partnerships

• Research and evaluate competitors' marketing strategies and digital content

• Write, edit, and translate text as needed

• Assist with daily administrative tasks

Qualifications:

• Enrollment in a current undergraduate program in marketing, communication, or a related field

• Strong desire to learn and a professional mindset

• Proficiency in English and French (both oral and written)

• Comfortable appearing in front of the camera for social media videos

• Experience with video and photo editing tools

• Familiarity with graphic design software (Canva/Figma)

• Passion for social media and knowledge of key platforms and social media management tools

• Strong social listening skills

• Ability to understand past, current, and future trends in digital content and social media

• Excellent writing and editing skills

• Strong verbal and communication skills

• Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Proactive, quick learner

• Interest or strong ability in data and analytics

• Effective time management and quick responses
