MLA Law is seeking an experienced Senior Corporate Law Clerk to join our growing team. As a Senior Corporate Law Clerk, you will take a leadership role in corporate law matters, assist with high-level transactions, and mentor junior staff. What You’ll Do:
- Take ownership of complex corporate matters, including incorporations, dissolutions, amalgamations, and corporate reorganizations.
- Draft and review a wide range of corporate documents, including resolutions, minute books, share purchase agreements, and financing transactions.
- Lead due diligence reviews and assist with mergers, acquisitions, and financing transactions.
- Ensure all corporate records are up to date in MLA Law’s database and other systems.
- Mentor and train junior clerks, providing guidance on legal processes and documents.
- Handle client communication and act as a primary point of contact for corporate matters.
- Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
What We’re Looking For:
- A college degree/certificate in law clerk studies (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of experience as a corporate law clerk in a law firm or corporate setting.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, including experience with incorporations, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
- Leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior staff.
