Our dedicated team provides vigorous advocacy and personalized service to clients facing serious charges. We are seeking a motivated Criminal Defence Lawyer to join our growing criminal practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional passionate about defending clients in bail hearings, trials, and sentencings in the Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court.

Key Responsibilities:

Represent clients in all stages of criminal proceedings. Conduct legal research, prepare motions, and draft factums. Appear in court for bail, trials, guilty pleas, and sentencing. Provide strategic advice and build strong defence cases Collaborate with senior counsel on complex matters. Attend Niagara Detention Centre (located 10 minutes from our office) weekly to meet with clients and retain new clients.

Requirements:

Licensed to practise law in Ontario and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO). Minimum 1 year of experience in criminal defence (experience in bail, trials, or related criminal litigation preferred). New calls who have articled in criminal law will also be considered.
Strong advocacy, research, and communication skills. Commitment to zealous representation and client service. Ability to manage files independently while working in a team environment
