Description:

Catalent, Inc., a leading global contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), is seeking a Production Manager – Finishing / Specialty Product Suite (SPS) to join their Windsor, Ontario site. This site offers softgel development and manufacturing capabilities for the pharmaceutical and consumer health industries.

The Production Manager will oversee and lead manufacturing operations within Finishing and SPS, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, operational efficiency, quality, and safety. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, this role plays a critical part in maintaining On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) delivery and organizational objectives.

This is a 100% on-site position, with regular shifts from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Extended hours or weekends may be required occasionally.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead production operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.

  • Provide performance management and leadership for direct reports and hourly staff.

  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships across departments and with union representatives.

  • Oversee production budgeting, manpower planning, and implement corrective actions when needed.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, GMP standards, regulatory requirements, and health & safety protocols.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain audit readiness.

  • Act as site lead in the absence of the Director of Operations.

  • Support new product launches and lead manufacturing investigations with timely corrective actions.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational goals.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (Chemistry, Biology) or related field preferred.

  • Experience: 3+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing; experience in pharmaceutical or GMP environments is preferred.

  • Leadership experience, including participation in Catalent leadership programs, may substitute for external experience.

  • Strong management, negotiation, and organizational skills.

  • Proven ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

  • Knowledge of automation systems is an asset.

  • Manual dexterity required for handling tasks, including keyboard use and physical operations in manufacturing settings.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage a diverse workforce.

  • Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain regulatory compliance.

  • Competency in budgeting, project management, and manpower planning.

  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may include standing, walking, bending, lifting, and handling chemicals.
