We are seeking an occupational therapist to join our multi-disciplinary team. A strong applicant has experience working with children of varying ages with a variety of concerns and conditions. Job Summary
- This position is part-time and requires availability on weekend and evening hours (4:00-8:00 pm).
- Work will be a mix of in-person at the clinic, school-based care and some virtual care.
- Provides comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and intervention to children with a variety of occupational performance issues.
- Follows evidence-based approaches to assessment and treatment.
- Provides education and feedback to families.
- Communicates effectively and maintains relationships with referring physicians, healthcare providers and other relevant community stakeholders.
- Manages a varied caseload and meets required timelines.
- Maintains complete and accurate medical records using an electronic (computerized) system.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, with experience in paediatric assessment and treatment.
- Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO).
Experience/Skills
- A minimum of three years of experience is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in assessment and evidence-based occupational therapy interventions with children. Experience treating the following areas is an asset:
- Feeding
- Fine motor
- Sensory processing
- Self-regulation
- Motor planning
- Experience providing care virtually.
- Proven ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Utilizes critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Efficient time management and organizational skills are required.
- Requires excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills in French is an asset.
