Description:
CAE, a global leader in training and simulation for defense and aviation professionals, is hiring a FWSAR Instructor Pilot based in Comox, British Columbia. This role is critical to ensuring military aviators are trained and ready for the highest-stakes missions, including search and rescue (SAR) operations.
The Instructor Pilot will deliver comprehensive training in synthetic environments such as high-fidelity flight simulators and ground-based devices. You will mentor military personnel, evaluate progress, and support courseware development while working with a cutting-edge, multidisciplinary team dedicated to safety, security, and mission readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide academic and flight instruction using simulators and training devices
Deliver servicing and elementary work training
Evaluate student performance, maintain progress reports, and deliver feedback
Collaborate with other instructors to meet training objectives
Contribute to the development and improvement of instructional courseware
Ensure consistency with training plans, standards, and teaching points
Occasionally travel and work overtime in support of CAE projects
Mandatory Qualifications:
Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid Canadian Work Permit
Eligible for Controlled Goods and Government of Canada Level II security clearance
Experience as a multi-engine fixed-wing pilot
Certified Flight Instructor / Instructor Pilot
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Physically fit for confined simulator spaces
Preferred Skills:
Experience as a Search and Rescue (SAR) pilot
Familiarity with instructional courseware design and training media
Ability to instruct in French (preferred)
Prior experience with Airbus CC295 aircraft is an asset
Compensation & Benefits:
Monthly Salary: CAD 8,625 – CAD 12,941
