Forge Recruitment is currently seeking a skilled Family Legal Assistant to join the growing Family Law practice group of a highly reputable multi-service law firm in downtown Toronto. This is an exciting opportunity for a legal administrative professional looking to contribute to a dynamic legal team in a well-established firm known for excellence and integrity.

The successful candidate will have at least two years of direct experience in Family Law, ideally within a shared role environment, and will be comfortable navigating the intricacies of Ontario's Family Law processes, legislation, and deadlines. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive legal administrative support to lawyers within the Family Law practice group.

  • Draft, prepare, and proofread legal documents and correspondence with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Maintain and manage lawyers’ calendars, including scheduling client meetings, court dates, and case-related deadlines.

  • File legal documents electronically, ensuring full compliance with Family Law protocols and the latest practice directions.

  • Utilize DivorceMate and Microsoft Office Suite to support documentation, case file updates, and reporting.

  • Maintain a high level of organization within client files and ensure confidentiality is upheld.

  • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, court staff, and internal team members.

  • Assist with general administrative duties as needed, contributing to the smooth functioning of the practice.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Legal Administrative Assistant program; a Law Clerk designation is a strong asset.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience specifically in Family Law.

  • Solid understanding of Ontario Family Law legislation, court rules, and associated filing procedures.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and DivorceMate software.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a high standard of professionalism.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced legal environment.
