What You Will Do:
Proactively monitor real-time activity, performance, and operational status of all wind and solar assets on a 24-hour basis.
Understand and actively identify abnormal operating and alarm conditions on all assets.
Interpret and apply technical drawings, procedures, and other relevant documentation to resolve turbine, solar and substation operational / reliability issues.
Ensure the safety of site personnel by communicating abnormal conditions, fault reset activities, and weather-related emergencies.
Maintain full understanding of compliance procedures and fulfill all communication requirements for identified compliance entities.
Monitor and operate renewable assets using multiple SCADA and data aggregation applications.
Review all alarms and faults to determine follow-up actions or reporting requirements.
Utilize procedures to determine the course of action necessary for fault resets.
Maximize revenue preservation by timely resetting faults, where applicable.
Maintain a professional and accurate shift log for significant activities and communications.
Maintain compliant shift logs and operational activity with NERC/System Operator requirements.
Build relationships with Power Operations personnel to ensure accurate communication and understanding of all operations.
Assist the Plant Managers by communicating compliance issues, site operational concerns, generator operating limits, and market condition impacts.
Resolve generating facility transmission issues between site personnel, transmission owner/operator and the respective reliability entities to ensure safety at the sites and mitigate gaps in service to end users.
Assist with reducing asset downtime by analyzing fault information and identifying root causes by working with the facility personnel.
Who You Are:
College/University Degree in Electrical or Renewable program, or related technical field of study.
Prefer experience in wind, solar and/or generating facility operations, maintenance, testing, electrical equipment operation, plant performance applications, and familiarity with software applications (SCADA systems, applications software, Historian/PI System, Microsoft Office).
Knowledge of regulatory compliance practices for 24x7 Control Rooms; Knowledge of Control Room Best Practices will be an asset to this role.
Demonstrated ability to read electrical engineered drawings (one lines, three lines, schematics).
A detailed understanding of and demonstrated ability in working with software and hardware applications used in the control, alarm management, data acquisition, and performance monitoring of renewable generating facilities.
Ability to use multiple software applications to systematically monitor, trend, and identify faults, system and/or component statuses, to determine the course of corrective action necessary, perform the desired operation, and log the event actions.
Experience with one or more of the following OEM SCADAs is preferred but not required; Siemens WPS, Acciona WinCC, Vestas VOB and WindNET.
Ability to maintain integrity while performing reliably in a detailed manner under time sensitive/high-pressure situations.
Ability to make critical/analytical decisions and communicate efficiently with all levels of employees, officers, and counsel in a fast-paced environment
