Tolling Manager

Description:

Syngenta, a global leader in crop protection, is seeking a Tolling Manager to oversee third-party manufacturing (tolling) operations. This role is critical in minimizing supply risks by ensuring that tollers adhere to Syngenta’s Health, Safety, Environment, and Security (HSES) standards, as well as quality, regulatory, contractual, and financial commitments. The Tolling Manager will coordinate and consult across various Syngenta departments and act as the primary managerial contact for tolling operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with Syngenta HSES policies, quality standards, and Crop Life guidance at tolling sites.

• Act as the primary point of contact for technical issues, risk management, and operational challenges with tollers.

• Support and drive HSES and quality audits; oversee timely resolution of findings and action plans.

• Investigate complaints, implement corrective actions, and ensure product-specific documentation is accurate and complete.

• Ensure on-time and in-full (QOTIF) delivery targets are achieved through effective collaboration with partners.

• Measure toller performance, conduct capability mapping, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

• Identify and implement outsourcing and siting options as needed to maintain cost competitiveness and production flexibility.

• Define requirements for contractual agreements to secure capacity and competitive costs.

• Monitor total tolling costs per unit to identify and realize savings opportunities.

• Lead or participate in new product introductions and selected projects.

• Maintain accurate master data (BOMs, OLAs), investigate variances in production usage/toll fees, and resolve issues appropriately.

• Define scrap factors and oversee their implementation.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience (minimum five years in a manufacturing or technical role).

• Basic understanding of formulation, fill & pack technology, and related processes.

• Experience with third-party relationship management.

• Knowledge of HSE, quality, and regulatory compliance frameworks.

• Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
