Agro Division Manager

 

Description:

Prairie Roots Co-op, a full-service ag input retailer, is hiring an Agro Division Manager to oversee their Agro locations in Marquette, Starbuck, and Elm Creek, MB. This permanent, full-time role is ideal for an experienced leader in the agriculture industry, offering the chance to lead a team and drive operational excellence across various agricultural locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy:

    • Provide strategic and operational leadership across Prairie Roots Co-op Agro locations.

    • Ensure alignment with organizational goals and consistently meet or exceed budgeted targets.

  • Marketing & Sales:

    • Oversee marketing, merchandising, and promotional strategies, including pricing, displays, and seasonal campaigns.

    • Develop, manage, and achieve financial targets, monitoring sales, margins, and profitability.

  • Team Management:

    • Lead a high-performing team with 5 direct reports, including Agronomists and a Fertilizer Plant Supervisor.

    • Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development support.

  • Customer & Stakeholder Relations:

    • Build strong, trust-based relationships with key customers and stakeholders.

    • Ensure exceptional service delivery and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

  • Compliance & Safety:

    • Ensure all locations comply with safety protocols, maintenance standards, and asset protection policies.

Who You’ll Work With:

  • The Team: You will report to the Operations Manager and oversee 5 direct reports, including Agronomists and other agro professionals.

  • The Community: Prairie Roots Co-op serves the vibrant and friendly community of Marquette, a small town northwest of Winnipeg, offering local connections through the community hall and curling club.

Who You Are:

  • Qualifications:

    • Degree in Agriculture.

    • 5+ years of relevant experience, including 2-3 years in leadership.

    • CCA or P.AG. accreditation is an asset but not required.

    • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

    • Strong time management, planning, and multi-tasking skills.

  • Skills:

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

    • A collaborative mindset and a results-oriented approach.
