Description:
Malley Industries Inc. is seeking a technically inclined student for an internship/work term to assist with the creation of production-related work instructions. The role involves developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the manufacturing facility, playing a key role in streamlining operations, ensuring consistency, and improving efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Observing Work Processes: Watch experienced employees perform tasks to accurately document each step.
Developing Detailed Instructions: Write clear, concise, and easy-to-follow step-by-step guides for daily work flows and key processes, incorporating visuals like images, photographs, or diagrams.
Quality Checks: Ensure work instructions are accurate, up-to-date, and meet company standards, maintaining consistency in formatting, language, and structure.
Collaboration with Subject Matter Experts: Work with employees who have in-depth knowledge of specific tasks to gather necessary information.
Maintaining a Knowledge Base: Regularly update work instructions to reflect process changes or new procedures.
Skills Needed:
Experience in creating SOPs, process documentation, or technical writing.
Excellent writing and communication skills, able to explain complex processes simply.
Inquisitive mindset to understand and document tasks accurately.
Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment. Vehicle knowledge is a significant asset.
Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in each work instruction.
Organizational skills for managing multiple work instructions and keeping them updated.
Proficiency in software like Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
Oral and written proficiency in English.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Thursday: 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m. – noon
