Role Overview:
The Superintendent Supply Chain leads and governs supply chain operations including goods movement, inventory management, shipments, and stakeholder communications. The role focuses on issue resolution, cost reduction, compliance, and enhancing performance.
Work Schedule:
Roster: 5 days on, 2 days off; 4 days on, 3 days off
Shifts: 9.5 hours
Local residential role (no fly-in/fly-out)
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement controls/procedures for high-risk supply chain tasks ensuring safety and risk mitigation
Liaise with departments to align supply chain planning with operational goals
Analyze supply chain performance, track metrics, and report to senior management
Identify and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency, cost, and sustainability
Resolve transportation and inventory issues including delays and damages
Ensure compliance with legal, environmental, industry, and company policies
Manage supply chain budgets and ensure adherence to financial constraints
Oversee warehouse inventory management to prevent shortages or overstocking
Coordinate transportation schedules and shipment tracking
Manage logistics contracts and ensure compliance
Assist in reducing logistics costs (transportation, warehousing)
Monitor rush shipments and provide progress updates
Lead, train, and manage supply chain staff to ensure effective operations
Candidate Profile:
Relevant diploma or degree allowing membership in a recognized Canadian or international supply chain organization
Minimum 5 years’ supply chain experience in a heavy industry environment with leadership in improvement initiatives
Strong conceptual, quantitative, and problem-solving skills in complex environments
Risk management capabilities during change processes
Strategic and commercial acumen with business value focus
Ability to build relationships and networks at all organizational levels
Strong analytical skills supporting commercial decision-making
Experience with PRONTO or equivalent ERP system
Excellent leadership, time management, interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
