Site Superintendent

Description:

Stone Pacific Contracting Ltd., a family-owned and operated company in the Cowichan Valley since 2004, is seeking a Site Superintendent for civil construction projects. Stone Pacific offers a full range of services for residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal contracts, with a commitment to safety, quality, and a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure site safety in accordance with WorkSafeBC and the company's Safety Manual

• Supervise and mentor the crew

• Coordinate subtrades and suppliers

• Manage projects to meet contract and budget specifications

• Conduct safety meetings, hazard assessments, and site orientations

• Complete and submit all required paperwork, including daily field reports, timecards, extra work tracking, safety meetings, FLHAs, as-built drawings, packing slips, and trucking slips

• Meet with management and stakeholders to discuss job details and progress

• Coordinate with engineers and inspectors for layout and inspections

About You:

• Minimum 10 years of relevant civil construction experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role

• Required: Basic or Intermediate First Aid, Valid BC Driver’s License (Class 5), and a satisfactory driver’s abstract

• Ability to lift up to 50lb

• Ability to operate machinery including excavators, backhoes, and loaders

• Preferred: Water Distribution Level 1, Class UR FSR (Hydro Raceway), Fusion Welding of HDPE Piping Systems Ticket, Gold Seal Certification, AScT Accreditation, CET

Skills and Attributes:

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with engineers and owners

• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

• In-depth understanding of Stone Pacific Contracting Ltd.’s Safety Manual and WorkSafeBC’s Regulation

• Ability to supervise employees and subcontractors effectively while maintaining respect and courtesy

• Passion for construction, safety, and team leadership
