Service Technician

Description:

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III) to perform maintenance and repairs on complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems. This role offers growth potential into higher service technician levels and leadership roles within the Service Department.

The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, a solid background with various engines, and the ability to maintain high standards of safety and professionalism. You will contribute to exceptional customer service while working independently and supporting team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely maintain and repair a variety of rental equipment including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.

• Assist in training junior technicians as needed.

• Maintain accurate daily documentation and work orders.

• Travel to customer job sites for repairs and maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.

• Assist with equipment and parts pick-up and delivery.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

• 3-5 years of experience in equipment/tool maintenance and repair.

• Advanced mechanical skills and strong knowledge of engines.

• Must have own tools relevant to the role.

• Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.

• Ability to frequently lift up to 45 lbs.

• Position is safety sensitive as per United Rentals policies.
