Your responsibilities also include:
- Building a community for service designers that incorporates community contribution, experimentation, and collaboratively progresses the practice.
- Ensuring the space for the excellence of service design practice by having practitioners take ownership, championing the practice, and raising design literacy across the organization.
- Delivering patterns, templates and tools to make alignment to service design best practices easy.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- A practitioner’s understanding of formal service design incuding policy, organization structures and techology.
- Experience recruiting and leading top performing designers.
- A track record of iterative, user-centred, data-driven digital delivery.
- Demonstrable expertise in Internet-era ways of working.
This role offers the opportunity to create a new capability in Alberta’s public service and to improve the lives of Albertans. The position may be eligible for remote work within Alberta.
Qualifications
Other requirements include:
- Leadership experience
- Service design experience in a formal product-focused, prototype-driven environment working on cross-functional agile teams
- Solid experience with a variety of modern production design practices (e.g., design research planning, usability testing and service analysis, persona development, prototype design and testing, journey map and service blueprint development)
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Agile design methodologies, practices and principles (design research and user input, prototype design and testing)
