Art Director

 

Description:

As an Art Director at The Pub, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our clients’ digital and social mediacampaigns. In partnership with a Copywriter, you will collaborate to develop and execute concepts for digital channels, social campaigns and ongoing organic social content. Your ability to think strategically and deliver high-quality socially relevantsolutions will be key to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a content creator to translate creative concepts into compelling social content for our clients
  • Works on multiple projects simultaneously and delivers on client expectations and meets objectives consistently
  • Oversee the production of social and video content, including storyboarding, directing, and collaborating with production teams to ensure high-quality output.
  • Create visually compelling and strategically sound designs for client campaigns.
  • Develop engaging social media content that aligns with clients' brand identities and marketing objectives.
  • Work closely with copywriters, content creators, designers, and account managers to ensure cohesive and effective campaign execution.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continually bring fresh ideas and innovative solutions to the table.
  • Present creative concepts and campaigns to clients, effectively communicating the strategic rationale behind your work.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Post-secondary education in Advertising, Graphic Design or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in an art director role, preferably within an advertising agency environment.
  • Strong social-first portfolio that also highlights a diverse range of work.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma.
  • Excellent conceptual thinking and visual storytelling skills.
  • Strong understanding of branding, typography, color theory, and layout design.
  • Experience in directing video shoots and collaborating with production teams.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating high-quality, impactful work.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate creative approach, and seek unexpected, original and innovative ideas.
  • Thrives in a fast paced and creative environment.
