Senior Insights & Analytics Manager

The Senior Manager, Insights & Analytics is responsible for leading the data analysis, reporting, and insights capabilities for the Student Lending business. As a people leader, the role oversees the Insights & Analytics team and is accountable for portfolio performance insights, borrower engagement analytics, client reporting, and supporting the evolving data needs of the business. The Senior Manager will lead in the data modernization and analytics transformation journey, and upskilling the team in modern data practices and AI-enabled analytics. You will be accountable for identifying key trends, root causes, and future impacts to generate actionable insights that solve complex business problems for NDS Canada and their clients. The successful candidate leads client discussions and presentations to review portfolio results and trends, while managing team resources, workforce planning, recruitment, and performance management.

Responsibilities & Deliverables

Your deliverables will include, but are not limited to, the following:

People Leadership & Team Development
 

  • Lead and develop a high‑performing, inclusive team of portfolio and reporting analysts through effective coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Set clear priorities, development goals, and standards of excellence to strengthen technical rigor, problem‑solving, and data storytelling capabilities.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement to drive high‑quality analytical outcomes.
     

Analytics Strategy & Data Transformation
 

  • Lead and drive the data and analytics transformation journey for NDS Canada, evolving tools, processes, and ways of working.
  • Partner with Technology and Data teams to improve data quality, data models, governance, and platform capabilities.
  • Establish best practices for analytics standards, documentation, quality assurance, and reusability.
     

Insights, Decision Support & Performance Management
 

  • Deliver actionable insights, dashboards, and analytics that inform strategic, operational, and client policy decisions.
  • Own and evolve data visualization, performance metrics, KPIs, and scorecards across servicing, customer, portfolio, and financial performance.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities and adapt KPIs, data, and reporting to meet changing business and client needs.
  • Apply statistical, predictive, and exploratory analytics to understand borrower behavior, operational drivers, and program outcomes.
     

Client & Stakeholder Engagement
 

  • Prepare and deliver clear, executive-ready presentations of insights, performance results, and recommendations to internal stakeholders and clients, including government partners.
  • Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
     

Required Experience
 

  • Strong people leadership and coaching capabilities, that is able to lead and upskill teams through change, evolving priorities, and influencing new ways of working.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and communicate insights and recommendations clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfort balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Proficient with MS Office, data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau), and experience coding in VBA, SQL, and Python.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to partner across the business and build solid working relationships
  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Working experience in reporting and analytics, with prior leadership role preferred.
  • Experience working with public sector, in financial services or a related field is highly desirable.
