TalentSphere Staffing Solutions has partnered with a well-established and highly respected HVAC manufacturer and distributor operating across North America. This organization is recognized for offering one of the most comprehensive HVAC product lines in the industry. They are currently seeking a Lead/Senior Estimator to join their growing team in Surrey, BC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and assign bids to the estimating team, ensuring workload is effectively managed.

  • Review and manage incoming bids via the general email inbox; upload into RepEdge project management software.

  • Conduct take-offs using Bluebeam software and ensure thorough review of the bid board for all closing deadlines.

  • Analyze project feasibility, coordinate with Sales or Air Distribution Manager for bid decisions or deadline extensions.

  • Identify specialty product requirements early and obtain accurate pricing using vendor software.

  • Monitor market trends, exchange rates, and pricing shifts to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.

  • Review and incorporate all project addendums and clearly define bid inclusions and exclusions.

  • Collaborate with Air Distribution Manager on markup strategies.

  • Ensure bid completion at least 24 hours prior to deadlines.

  • Compile detailed bid packages for both Sheet Metal and Mechanical Contractors.

  • Coordinate with the mechanical team to include all relevant plumbing and refrigeration products.

  • Conduct Issued-for-Construction (IFC) reviews upon sales order confirmation.

  • Assist Sales and Project Managers with change orders and site instruction documentation.

  • Participate in training programs to stay updated on evolving product lines and technologies.

  • Offer value engineering solutions where applicable, emphasizing cost-effectiveness and design innovation.

  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication.

  • Continuously enhance internal estimating procedures and team structure for maximum efficiency.

  • Represent the company at client-focused events such as open houses, sporting events, or client lunches.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional estimating experience; HVAC-specific experience is a strong asset.

  • Degree or diploma in a relevant field (Engineering, Construction, HVAC, etc.).

  • Proficiency in interpreting architectural and mechanical drawings.

  • Proven leadership capabilities with strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to self-motivate and think creatively in problem-solving scenarios.

  • Professional demeanor, time management, and multitasking abilities are essential.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).

  • Positive attitude, integrity, and a client-focused approach are critical.
