About This Role

This is a four-month contract engagement to support our pre-construction team during a period of active growth. You will work closely with our project management and design team to produce detailed, accurate construction estimates for luxury custom home projects. The work is precise, deadline-driven, and directly tied to client commitments.

This role involves direct communication with clients and trade partners. You will be expected to represent LUX professionally in every interaction clear, calm, and client-first.

What We Are Looking For

LUX specializes in luxury custom homes and renovations in the $2M to $3M+ range, and our estimating work reflects that standard. We operate on fixed pricing and guaranteed move-in dates, which means our numbers have to be right. We need an estimator who understands what precise planning and detailed budgeting actually look like in practice not in theory.

The right person for this role brings:

• Proven estimating experience in residential construction, ideally in the custom or luxury segment

• The ability to read architectural drawings and produce line-by-line cost breakdowns with confidence

• Strong attention to detail — you catch what others miss before it becomes a problem on site

• Proactive communication — you flag issues early and follow through without being asked

• An ownership mindset — you treat the numbers like they matter, because at LUX, they do

• Familiarity with Okanagan trades and supplier pricing is a strong asset

• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where quality and timelines are non-negotiable

• Professionalism in client and trade partner interactions — you represent the LUX standard in every conversation

• Direct experience with JobTread is required, including entering specs, building parameters, and issuing purchase orders and change orders

What Success Looks Like at 30 Days

By the end of the first 30 days, the right person will have:

• Produced complete, accurate pre-construction estimates for active LUX projects with minimal revision cycles

• Built a working knowledge of LUX's estimating standards, trade relationships, and cost benchmarks

• Established trusted communication rhythms with the project management and design team

• Identified at least one area where our estimating process can be tightened or improved, and proposed a solution

• Handled client and trade partner interactions in a way that reflects the LUX brand — professional, clear, and relationship-first
