Description:
Element Fleet Management is seeking a Senior Benefits Specialist to administer and enhance the company’s employee benefits, leave, and retirement programs. The role is key to ensuring compliance with Canadian and U.S. regulations, improving internal processes, and supporting employee well-being across North America.
Serve as a core member of the Benefits Center of Excellence (COE) for Canada and the U.S.
Administer benefits programs, assess eligibility, and resolve complex issues with brokers, carriers, and payroll teams.
Oversee RRSP and 401(k) plans, including audits and compliance.
Manage leaves of absence, disability, and workplace accommodation processes.
Maintain vendor relationships and ensure timely invoice reconciliation.
Support annual benefits enrollment, testing, and communications.
Collaborate with HR and systems teams to drive efficiency and compliance improvements.
Ensure compliance with relevant U.S. and Canadian benefits legislation and reporting.
5–8 years of benefits management experience across Canada and the U.S.
Expertise in group benefits, retirement plans (RRSP, 401k), and absence management.
Knowledge of ADA, FMLA, and other regulatory frameworks.
Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, or related field.
CEBS designation (or in progress).
Proficient with HRIS and Benefits Administration systems.
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Collaborative, detail-oriented, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
Must pass a background check after a conditional offer.
Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Full-time on-site role (Mississauga/Toronto).
