Senior Actuary

Eckler, Canada's largest independent actuarial consulting firm, is seeking a talented, hardworking actuary to join its growing pension practice. The role will primarily be based in Vancouver or Calgary, but will involve close collaboration with offices across Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing actuarial consulting services, senior analytical support, and overseeing complex projects related to pension plans for clients across the public and private sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide actuarial consulting services and senior analytical support to a wide range of clients.

• Anticipate client issues, needs, or concerns and proactively develop solutions.

• Manage complex projects, ensuring deadlines are met while complying with professional and Eckler standards.

• Identify technical problems and develop sound solutions to meet client needs.

• Contribute to business development efforts to support ongoing growth.

• Develop effective oral presentations, translating complex actuarial concepts into clear language.

• Supervise, mentor, and coach junior staff.

What You Offer:

• University degree.

• Completion or near completion of FCIA.

• 5 – 10 years of progressive experience in a consulting environment.

• Strong command of Microsoft Office tools.

• Excellent business relationship skills and interest in business development.

• Superior communication skills (written and oral).

• Highly motivated, client-service and team-oriented individual.

• Detail and results-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

• Strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude.

• Experience with asset liability modelling is considered an advantage.
