Secondary Counsellor

The Vancouver School Board (VSB) is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Secondary Counsellor. This role is integral in promoting mental health, academic support, and personal development for students within the secondary school environment. The successful candidate will work closely with students, parents, staff, and community organizations to foster safe and supportive learning environments where all students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and group counselling services to secondary students

• Consult and collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals regarding student development and concerns

• Apply trauma-informed and inclusive practices to support student well-being

• Coordinate access to school and community resources for students and families

• Maintain accurate, confidential records and documentation

• Support the academic planning and career guidance of students

• Promote mental health awareness and preventative programs within the school
