English Instructor

Description:

The Adult Education English Instructor supports secondary-level English learning at the South Hill Education Center under the Vancouver School Board’s Adult Education program. The positions cover English Foundations 1 & 4, Speaking & Listening 1/2, and English 10 & 11 courses, running Monday to Thursday, 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm.

Adult Education at VSB offers educational opportunities for youth and adults, from Foundations-level courses to secondary school completion, in structured and self-paced formats. Courses follow Ministry of Education curriculum and aim to prepare students for the Adult or regular Dogwood Diploma.

Candidates are required to hold a Bachelor of Arts (English major) and a Bachelor of Education. TRB membership or eligibility and TQS registration are required. Applicants must provide cover letter, resume, academic transcripts, evaluations, and three professional references. The role emphasizes supporting diverse learners in inclusive, equity-focused environments and requires strong teaching, communication, and classroom management skills.
