Description:

Ornge, Ontario’s leading air ambulance and critical care transport provider, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Rotor Wing First Officer to join their aviation team based in Moosonee, Ontario. This role is integral to connecting communities across Ontario by providing essential air transport services for patients in need of urgent medical care. The First Officer will support the Pilot-in-Command in all aspects of aircraft operation and flight planning, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely mission execution.

This position involves working in a 24/7 operational environment, including day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts, with the possibility of overtime and overnight stays away from the home base. Candidates must be able to handle high-pressure situations, demonstrate flexibility, and adapt to varying conditions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Pilot-in-Command with flight planning, aircraft preparation, and operational duties.

  • Operating under company policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and Transport Canada regulations.

  • Completing mandatory company training and maintaining required certifications.

  • Providing flight support at bases across the province as needed.

  • Ensuring compliance with CARs rest requirements and safety protocols, including the use of respiratory protective equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Commercial Rotary-wing (H) License.

  • Minimum 500 Rotary-wing flight hours.

  • Completed ATPL Exams.

  • Valid Group 4 Instrument Rating* and Night Rating*.

  • Valid Class 1 Medical.

  • AW-139 Type Rating and EMS experience are considered strong assets.

  • Ability to complete Controlled Goods Security Assessment for Night Vision Goggle use.

  • Valid Canadian Passport or eligibility to work in Canada and travel to the USA.

  • Immunization records with required vaccinations.

Note: Candidates lacking Group 4 Instrument and/or Night Rating may receive conditional offers with reimbursement up to CAD 30000 for required training after successful service milestones.
