Position Overview:
AAR is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic Apprentice to perform assembly, disassembly, and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. This role involves learning through hands-on experience while working toward Transport Canada’s Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Detect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and hydraulic systems and components

  • Perform routine and non-routine maintenance following applicable manuals

  • Document corrective actions clearly and accurately

  • Inspect aircraft structural and mechanical systems to ensure compliance with Transport Canada and AAR safety standards

  • Complete tasks as per Transport Canada AME logbook to qualify for AME license

  • Participate actively in AAR Windsor’s Safety Management System (SMS), reporting hazards and promoting safety policies

Qualifications:

  • Aircraft Maintenance college diploma (required)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Ability to use computer systems for information input and retrieval

  • Own a personal set of tools and toolbox (specialty/calibrated tools provided)

  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills in English

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

  • Self-motivated, organized, and positive attitude

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Work performed primarily on the hangar floor

  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs

  • Shift work and overtime as needed

  • Frequent use of computers for manual and parts reference
