Woody Nelson Inc., a leading craft cannabis company based in the Kootenays, is seeking a Label Printing Technician to join its production team in Nelson, BC. This role is ideal for detail-oriented individuals who take pride in accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, printing, and managing product labels that meet company specifications and regulatory requirements.

The Label Printing Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that every product leaving the facility is properly identified and compliant with all labeling standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create, design, and produce labels for various cannabis products in line with company branding and industry regulations.

• Ensure all labels comply with local, provincial, and federal labeling standards, maintaining consistency and accuracy.

• Collaborate with the production and quality assurance teams to determine label requirements, timelines, and approvals.

• Conduct quality control checks to verify label accuracy, legibility, and adherence to specifications.

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot label printing equipment such as thermal transfer printers and inkjet systems.

• Manage label inventory levels, coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure supplies are always available.

• Keep detailed and organized records of label versions, print batches, and revision histories.

• Assist in troubleshooting any label production or equipment-related issues promptly to avoid downtime.

• Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance labeling processes and workflow efficiency.

• Collaborate closely with packaging, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure smooth production operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; a technical diploma or certification in Graphic Design, Printing Technology, or a related field is preferred.

• Prior experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is an asset.

• Proficiency with graphic design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is advantageous.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all labeling tasks.

• Solid understanding of regulatory labeling requirements, especially within the cannabis or food manufacturing sectors.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.

• Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple projects and meet production deadlines.

• Basic mechanical aptitude for maintaining and troubleshooting printing machinery.
