Platform Engineer

Description:

Hunter Bond is seeking a Platform Engineer for a world-class fintech trading firm based in Montreal. This elite organization operates at the frontier of technology, leveraging high-performance infrastructure to support global trading operations.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining both compute and storage services at scale. The systems you're building will be critical to the firm’s success, supporting petabyte-scale storage and distributed compute workloads in a hybrid environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and manage large-scale compute and storage infrastructure with a focus on performance and scalability

• Standardize, automate, and test infrastructure for efficiency and reliability

• Install, configure, and monitor Linux-based systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux – RHEL)

• Administer large distributed storage environments and ensure optimal system performance and uptime

Technical Requirements:

• Proven expertise in Linux systems administration and tuning

• Experience with automation/configuration tools like Chef or Ansible

• Strong scripting skills in Python

• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and toolchains

• Knowledge of distributed storage architectures and protocols

• Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to fast-paced trading environments
