Spruce Meadows is seeking a full-time Painter to join its Operations Services team. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for all painting and finishing tasks across a wide variety of structures and settings. This includes both temporary and permanent structures, décor elements, portable assets, and day-to-day preparation and finishing work in both commercial and residential environments.

Key responsibilities include the preparation and painting of wood, drywall, and other surfaces using techniques such as rolling, cutting, priming, and spraying in both shop and field settings. Touch-up work and maintenance painting are also part of the role. During tournament seasons, work responsibilities and hours may shift to accommodate event schedules. Availability for evening and weekend shifts is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare surfaces (wood, drywall, etc.) for painting

• Apply paint using various methods: rolling, cutting, priming, spraying

• Conduct touch-ups and maintenance work as needed

• Work on both commercial and residential structures

• Perform duties during events, including weekends and nights

• Collaborate with the team and maintain professionalism on-site

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma

• At least 2 years of painting experience

• Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal)

• Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills

• Self-motivated with strong time management

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications and Assets:

• 1+ year of industrial painting experience

• Operator’s Certification for Aerial Work Platform (preferred)

• Operator’s Certification for Counterbalance and All-Terrain Forklifts (preferred)

• Standard First Aid & CPR Level C Certification (asset)

• Fluency in a second language (asset)
