Description:
The Class 1 Operator will be a key member of the Vacuum Truck & Fluid Services team, providing vital services such as fluid hauling, spill cleanup, line flushing, high-pressure washing, water hauling, and transporting various fluids/materials. This role emphasizes safety, professionalism, and teamwork to ensure exceptional service for clients. The chosen individual will be responsible for operating vacuum equipment, performing routine maintenance, and adhering to environmental compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate vacuum equipment in an industrial environment.
Follow company policies, procedures, and on-site requirements.
Provide exceptional customer service and represent GFL professionally.
Complete daily equipment pre-trips and maintain driver logs for NSC compliance.
Ensure accurate documentation for all work performed.
Participate in safety programs such as safety meetings, near miss reporting, and hazard assessments.
Work independently, manage time and productivity, and communicate effectively with the team.
Requirements:
Flexible availability with the ability to travel for a minimum of 2 weeks at a time.
Class 1 Driver’s License with Air Brakes and a clean Commercial Drivers Abstract.
A minimum of 1 year of fluid hauling experience; experience with Super B’s, Semi-Vac, Tankers, Combo Vac, and Water Trucks is an asset.
Must be able to operate manual transmission.
Valid safety tickets (First Aid/CPR, CSTS, TDG, H2S Alive) are an asset.
Winter driving experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
Safety-focused attitude with experience in an industrial setting.
Proficiency in electronic logs and mountain driving.
Ability to perform minor maintenance on equipment.
Must be physically fit and in good health.
Willingness to accept after-hour calls as needed.
Must be able to travel and stay overnight when required.
